Treyarch Shows Off Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Terminus Island Zombies Map in New Trailer

Activision is certainly extending its reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode. But if you’re a fan of the undead, there’s a lot more where last week’s gameplay trailer and reveal came from, with developer Treyarch now offering a tour of Zombies’ Terminus map.

Terminus Island is one of two maps that will be available at launch (the other is the West Virginia city of Liberty Falls), and Treyarch calls it “one of the largest round-based Zombies maps ever created.” Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode is set in the early 1990s, five years after the events of Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode, and Terminus Island serves as a prison for some familiar faces from Requiem. After their release early in the story, players can explore the prison itself before moving on to investigate the surrounding area of the tropical island.

There's a secret research facility specializing in “weird science” (in case you were wondering where the zombies might be coming from this time around), as well as the ocean and several smaller islands, all of which players will visit as part of Terminus' main quest. It's described as a “living world” filled with scripted encounters, ranging from zombies emerging from vats and prison guards still trying to control the undead threat, to less fortunate souls being chewed up.

Treyarch's trailer also shows off the new tentacle trap, which can be placed over doors to devour zombies that pass through, and there's also a look at “something bigger” that players might encounter in the water as they navigate between islands aboard their tactical rafts.

And that’s pretty much it in Treyarch’s latest Zombies reveal. Expect much more to come (including Zombies gameplay on August 28) before Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 arrives on October 25 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and select Game Pass tiers.
