It has finally been confirmed that Silent Hill 2 Remake will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive for one year.
Bloober Team's long-awaited remake will be available in “additional formats” on October 8, 2025, according to a new “immersive” trailer released yesterday.
At the moment, however, it is not yet clear what these “other formats” might be.
While we've known for a while that the remake would be exclusive to PC and PS5 consoles, until now we didn't know exactly how long this exclusivity period would last.
The latest trailer, embedded above, also showed off how the PS5 controller will work to better immerse you in the grim world of Silent Hill 2, including 4K graphics, 3D audio, haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a dynamic light bar that helps you monitor James’s health.

Silent Hill 2 Remake will offer the option to remove all UI elements and add a “90s filter”.
Earlier this month, Tom Morgan shared his thoughts on the first hours of the remake in Eurogamer’s Silent Hill 2 Remake preview.
“In rebuilding a beloved classic with improved visuals and controls, the new fighting style fits surprisingly well,” Tom wrote in his excellent summary.
