Now that the Galaxy S24 series is Samsung's official flagship, the latest Galaxy S23 deals are mostly clearance and trade-in sales. The previous generation model is slowly being phased out, with some retailers running out of stock or not having it in stock at all. In most cases, we recommend checking out the S24 sales first, as it's a newer smartphone and the sales tend to be much better. However, there are still some discounted deals floating around for those who are committed to buying an S23. Below, we've rounded up the best S23 deals available right now.
Availability of the Galaxy S23 is really starting to wane. The base model is the easiest to find, and most retailers and carriers still offer the device at a significant discount. Best Buy's Activate Today program can get you $100 off instantly, and some carriers have it for free. The S23+ is nearly nonexistent at the moment and very hard to get hold of, and the Ultra is no less impressive. If you're looking for a great deal on the top flagship model in the line, check out Best Buy, which is offering deep discounts on opened and refurbished models.

What you need to know about carrier trade-ins on Samsung.com
You might be thinking, “Getting $1,000 off a Galaxy S23+ with an AT&T trade-in is like a free phone!” But you'd be wrong. Technically, when you order a Galaxy S23 or any other phone on Samsung's website, the carrier promises to pay you. you You'll pay off the $800-1,000 enhanced trade-in credit with bill credits over the next 36 months, but because the trade-in and bill credit are handled entirely by the carrier, you'll pay Samsung $800-1,200 up front and then enjoy lower wireless bills for the next three years.
“Hey, what's going on? The phone was free the other day!” The reason it was free last time was probably because you bought the phone from a carrier, rather than directly from Samsung. In that case, you signed up for a three-year monthly payment plan and your trade-in credit waived those monthly payments. Why is it different? First, because carriers have less capital to put down at the launch of the device. After all, millions of people are buying these phones when they first launch.
If you change carriers between now and 2026, you won't have to pay the remaining balance, you've already paid it off. So if you change carriers, you'll just miss out on the bill credit for the last few months. This means you can leave your carrier at any time, but you won't get the full refund. And your phone is yours to use as you please. But if you trade it in for another phone before the three years are up, you might miss out on the last bill credit, especially if you start another bill credit cycle with your new phone.
Yes, it's complicated and messy, but that's why we are here.
Is the Samsung Galaxy S23 worth buying?
It really depends on what model you want and the price you can get it for. Now that we're well into the S24's life cycle and starting to think about the upcoming S25 series, the only real reason to consider one of the S23 phones is price and convenience. That's not to say these phones aren't great; they're over a year old but still perform well against other mid-range and flagship devices. And if you can get an S23 for free or its sibling at a deep discount, go for it. But at this point, you're just as likely, or more likely, to find a better deal on one of the S24 models.
