I have to admit that it took me longer than it should have to figure it out. I’ve been sorting my playlists for years, but after adding so many since then, and with Spotify undergoing several redesigns and style changes, the option to change the order of playlists is gone.

Or so I thought. It turns out it was buried in several other menus that control Spotify's sidebar.

  1. In the Spotify sidebar, select Playlists.
  2. Now, select Sort by The icon next to the playlist search bar. Select Custom order From the list.
  3. Next, drag and drop your playlists in the order you want.


Mission accomplished! The main reason I wanted to change the order of my playlists is to bring up two playlists that I add music to frequently. To return to the top right click Add to playlist The list. As said, they have been slowly pushed down the list over the years.Now, they are back in their rightful place.

You can also set a custom order for your Spotify playlist on Android and iOS devices:

  1. Open the playlist you want to reorder.
