Anker has established itself as a trusted brand in all things charging, so it was only natural for them to be pioneering the new Qi2 standard, a major update offering wireless charging up to 15W as well as magnetic power profiles. A-la Apple's MagSafe ensures that the coils on the charger and phone are perfectly aligned. That last point is important: Qi2 chargers mean faster, more efficient charging speeds for compatible smartphones, wireless earbuds, smartwatches, and more. Android phones that support Qi2 will also get the same treatment, though they're pretty scarce at the moment.
Qi2 ushered in a new era of wireless charging, and the Anker MagGo 6,600mAh power bank exemplifies the convenience of wireless charging. With a compact, portable design that slips easily into your bag, a form factor that doubles as a wireless charging stand, and reliable magnetic charging with Qi2, this power bank future-proofs your device's charging capabilities.
That said, unless you have a MagSafe-enabled iPhone, a magnetic phone case, or a Qi2-enabled Android, the Anker MagGo isn't going to do you much good. It does have one USB-C output for 20W wired charging, but if that's all you use it for, it defeats the purpose of a power bank. Plus, unlike most other products, Best Power Bank The battery capacity is well below 10,000mAh, but that doesn't mean it's without merit, especially if you're tired of living with a wire and want to charge your phone for everything you do.

Price and availability
At $70, the Anker MagGo 6,600mAh power bank isn't cheap. By comparison, the Zendure SuperMini portable charger is $30, has a 10,000mAh capacity, and can charge at 20W, but it doesn't have the wireless charging or cable-free versatility that Qi2 brings. The Anker MagGo is great for not only charging, but also any MagSafe or Qi2-enabled phone, and its foldable stand gives it the added benefit of justifying the price.
The Anker MagGo Power Bank comes in two colors, Shell White and Black Stone, and can be purchased from Amazon and Anker.
What's great about the Anker MagGo 6,600mAh Power Bank?
The cable goes away
Being able to charge your phone without cables is great, but it's even more convenient if you can continue to use it in a variety of ways while it's charging. The Anker MagGo 6,600mAh Power Bank aims to do exactly that, and for the most part, it achieves its goal.
This is mainly due to its support for Qi2. The magnets hold your phone snugly, not only for optimal charging, but also for a strong grip. This ensures that the Anker MagGo stays securely attached to your phone and prevents accidental presses from shifting your phone and blocking it from charging. No more slow charging due to your phone being slightly out of place. Anker power banks provide consistent and efficient wireless charging for your MagSafe-enabled smartphone.
Being able to use your phone while it charges normally while you go about your daily life is a real convenience, and that means the Anker MagGo 6,600mAh power bank delivers.
With this in mind, Anker came up with an ingenious idea: the MagGo Power Bank sticks to the back of your phone while it's charging, and you can hold and use it as normal, but when you lift the charging base, it doubles as a stand. It's a simple but effective feature that lets you place it on a surface to use as a second screen, for work calls, or just operate your phone without holding it. Again, you can do all of this while it's charging, and it can be adjusted from 30 degrees to 65 degrees to find the angle that's best for you.
Thanks to the firm circular magnetic grip, you can place your smartphone in landscape orientation and watch shows on any surface, be it a desk, an airplane seat table, or use it as a clock on your bedside table. Being able to use your smartphone normally while charging in your daily life is really convenient. In other words, the Anker MagGo 6,600mAh Power Bank is up to the task. It only has a 15W charging power, which is quite slow compared to other power banks. OnePlus 12 It's a 50W wireless charger, but that's the standard for now.
While 6,600mAh battery capacity doesn't seem like much, with just a little bit of battery left in the power bank, I was able to charge my Qi2-enabled smartphone from 10% to 100% in just over an hour. For many people, a single charge during a busy work day will be enough to keep their phone running until they get home, which means that for some phones that's essentially a second full charge (more on this later).
If you're just looking to power one device, this is a great product, but it's important to note that Anker states that this power bank provides around 4,000mAh of power to power your device when fully charged, due to 30%-45% energy loss in the battery cells and conversion circuitry, but it will still be able to give your device the battery boost it needs.
Cons of the Anker MagGo 6,600mAh Power Bank
Is that all?
The Anker MagGo 6,600mAh power bank is not without its drawbacks, two of which are its size and weight. Despite being compact enough to easily slip into a bag and not take up much space, it is still relatively thick and heavy. It weighs 263g, making it heavy to carry around with your phone on it, and its thickness means it's not the most comfortable to hold while texting or scrolling through social media; it's better used in its charging dock position.
Wireless charging is its forte, but you can also use 20W wired charging via the USB-C port. Sure, wired charging is generally faster, but as the best phone chargers attest, this Anker power bank isn't nearly as fast. Its more expensive sibling, the Anker MagGo 10,000mAh power bank, does offer wireless charging. and It packs in 27W USB-C wired charging in one package, with an additional 7W for speed.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to test wired charging on the MagGo 6,600mAh power bank unit I received as it didn't work, which naturally raises concerns that other units may have the same flaw. Either way, if you need fast charging, don't expect a quick boost from the MagGo 6,600mAh's 20W wired and 15W wireless speeds. However, if you're like me and don't mind leaving it attached to your smartphone for long periods of time, it will charge continuously.
In testing, it can fully charge an iPhone 13 mini and an iPhone 14 Pro after one charge, but not all smartphones can be fully charged. Anker says it can fully charge an iPhone 15 and about 0.85 times an iPhone 15 Pro Max. This is true in terms of battery capacity (3,367mAh and 4,441mAh, respectively). When used with a Qi2-enabled HMD Skyline with a 4,600mAh capacity, it was able to charge from 25% to 100% before needing power from the power bank. The Anker MagGo could have done with more battery capacity, but it's handy to have on hand if you only need to top it off once.
Another annoyance is the power bank's slow charging speed. It shouldn't take that long to charge a 6,600mAh battery, but it took me two hours to get it just over half full, and that's with Anker's own 65W PowerPort III charger. The modest LED light on the base makes it hard to tell how much charge there is. That's fine if you leave it plugged in overnight, but it's not much help if you're in a hurry and need to charge on the go.
Although Anker says it's not compatible with non-magnetic phone cases, the power bank was able to charge my Pixel 7 Pro (with the official Google case on it). We emphasize “somewhat” because it only managed to charge about 10% in 30 minutes, which isn't ideal. Anker emphasizes that this Anker MagGo power bank is only for use with MagSafe or Qi2-enabled devices or cases.
Should I buy it?
If you're all-in on wireless charging and have the right devices that support the MagSafe or Qi2 standards, the Anker MagGo 6,600mAh power bank is a great fit. For travelers who need a convenient way to charge their phone while watching a show hands-free, or for people who prefer a minimalist desk setup and want to keep their devices charged and ready to go, Anker's MagGo offers a convenient way to do it all. It may not be the most impressive power bank, but it's not the most expensive either (especially when it's discounted).
The unique folding stand design is appealing, but it does limit you to only being able to charge your phone once before needing a longer charge. However, if you can tolerate the bulky form factor, charging time, and lower battery capacity than most, you'll find a great way to quickly charge your device. If you have the cash to spare, consider Anker's better MagGo 10,000mAh power bank.
