As AI technology improves, it gets better at creating realistic-looking videos. For a while, these tools were only available to enthusiasts, but they are slowly becoming something that everyone can use. Now, Adobe has brought AI video creation to the public in a big way, although you won't be able to produce entire movies with it.
Adobe brings AI video creation technology to Premiere Pro and Firefly
As announced in two separate posts on the Adobe blog, you can now use AI to create videos in many different ways. The first blog post, titled “Generative Extend in Premiere Pro,” reveals that Adobe's professional video editing software can now use artificial intelligence to extend the length of a clip.
It can only add a couple of seconds to your video, so you won't be using this tool to create a new scene. However, it's a good way to make sure your clips end up the way you want. You should find this feature in the Premier Pro Beta branch, which is rolling out to people now.
The second blog post, “Create a (demo) video on Firefly Web App,” shows what you can do on the online version of Adobe's AI generator. With Firefly, you can now create videos using a text prompt or by uploading an image to work with. Whichever option you choose, Adobe will limit you to five seconds of video, so it's better to create short clips rather than full videos.
If you want to create videos using AI but Adobe's limitations are a little too strict for you, why not try a different tool? For example, one of our authors used an AI text-to-video tool to create a video on social media and document what happened.
